The Fischer Family is thrilled to announce the newest member,
Levi William Fischer
born to Joab and Amanda-Steve and Sharmin’s eldest son–
on June 21, 2015, at 10:56 pm, weighing 8.4 lbs and measuring 21 inches.
Before Levi was born, Amanda was fully occupied with their first-born son, Jayven, who kept her on her toes. So a peaceful baby girl seemed like what Jayven needed to help soften his ambitious behavior. But when Joab and Amanda discovered that their next baby was going to be another boy, they knew it was God’s planning and timing. The first time Jayven met Levi, Jayven was a bit frightened of the new little one his mommy held, but now Jayven enjoys his little brother.

Levi was born was on a Sunday, but no ordinary Sunday. It was Father’s Day, but even more than that, it was the Sunday that all the Faith Family Church (FFC) members had been looking forward to!
The day Levi was born was also FFC’s first “Outreach Sunday.” The goal was for everyone to invite and bring a family member or friend with them to church. The buildup for this Sunday began three weeks prior through a preaching series called “Invite Me.” Pastor Steve taught the Hong Kong (HK) Chinese through the Word of God, how they could have boldness to invite a loved-one to FFC. He encouraged them through the physical example of Amanda, ready to give birth; similarly many new babies were about to be born into God’s family.
Every FFC member was encouraged to bring ONE person with themto the Outreach Sunday. They didn’t have to bring two (although they could if they wanted to)—but there were no excuses for not bringing one. Of course, everyone has people in their life that need to hear the Gospel, but too many people had given up on reaching the people in their work place, school, or home because they feared being ridiculed or persecuted. So reaching just one person, with the Gospel was not too hard for anyone to pass up or give an excuse!

On the Outreach Sunday, the FFC members were pumped up about bringing their one friend to Jesus, and for the first time in the history of FFC, the regular Sunday service attendance broke the century mark and hit a total of 106 people!
The FFC Outreach Sunday was a wonderful success and God’s family grew! Many visitors were deeply moved by the message of salvation and accepted Jesus to be their Savior!

Back to baby Levi—as the FFC Outreach service carried on, Amanda began to go into labor. She remained at FFC during the whole service for she did not want to miss this life-changing event that we had been waiting for. Amanda found refuge in a side room, until the late afternoon when she and Joab finally headed to the hospital. Just a few hours later, Levi was born.
It was a precious Father’s Day—a day that God’s family and the Fischer Family grew. Just as a new baby will not be left alone to feed and take care of himself, the new spiritual babies that are now a part of FFC will not be left alone but will be loved and discipled to Love God, Love People, and Serve the World.
